When adding a new filter condition in the Firewall Advanced Filter (FAF) component, you might get the error:
Error Index (101): You are exceeding the maximum number of entries (maximum is 100)
This article provides detailed information regarding this error message.
Actually, this is not an error. The FAF supports up to 100 instances of the content condition, which means that you have reached the maximum number of filters. This is explained in detail in chapter 5.2.2 Content Filtering of the attached NewNet Mobile Messaging SMS Firewall User Guide.
5.2.2 Content Filtering
The FAF's content condition detects whether the content of a configured message field matches a word, phrase, or regular expression in a provisioned list. If the content of the field matches at least one of the items in the list, the condition returns "true" for the message being evaluated. The accuracy of word or phrase detection is configurable, ranging from an exact match to a match after normalization.
The content condition is most commonly used to evaluate the content of the user data (message content) field.
After the FAF identifies a match, it can modify the content of the field. For example, the FAF can replace a word or words in the user data with 'X' characters. Note that the Modify option is relevant only for the user data field and should be set to “None” for all other message fields.
Note: In the FAF MIB and license file, the content filter is referred to as the string filter.
