Overview
When using PeerApp (PA) Cache, you might encounter errors when a website is being cached, or you might not want sensitive information to be cached from a website. To avoid these issues, you need to bypass specific URLs in PA Cache.
This article provides the steps on how to bypass a URL in the Management portal/UBview.
Solution
-
Log in to the Management portal/UBview.
Note: If you encounter a Forbidden (403) error, please refer to this article about Fixing Forbidden (403) Errors.
-
Navigate to Configuration > Policy Manager:
- Click on the Categories tab:
- Click the Add button at the lower right corner of the screen.
-
In the Add Category box, type
Bypass URLs
in the Name field. -
Select the Application: Match domains option from the Type dropdown list:
Note: Make sure you only use the domain name (www.abc.com) and not add the URL path, adding the URL path will result in the step not working. If specified URI (http://www.abc.com/def.jpg) need to bypass, it needs to select "Application: Match URIs" -
Type/Paste the URL into the Domain field and press the Enter key.
Note: The bypass option is only applicable to URLs and does not include the ports used. The cache engine will bypass traffic from all the URLs provided in the domain field, regardless of the port numbers used. Repeat this step for all the URLs that you want to add.
-
Once completed, click the Add button.
-
