Overview
The default format for the originator number of a CDR is numeric, which is not descriptive. This article provides information on how to change the originator number of a CDR from a shortcode to an alphanumeric value.
Process
- In the MGR GUI, click Billing.
- Expand Post-paid Billing.
- Select Properties.
- Under Post-paid Billing Properties, in the Alphanumeric Format field, select alphanumeric.
The default value is numeric. Hence, by default, the address is decoded as if it is numeric. Once it is changed to alphanumeric, it is decoded as a readable UTF-8 string.
- Click Save to apply the change.
Confirmation
Once the process is followed, the originator number of the CDR, i.e., origAddressGSM
, changes from a shortcode such as short/private 20002
, to an alphanumeric value, such as alphanumeric/unknown WhatsApp
.
