In SmartVISION the Operating System has its own dedicated image and has been prepackaged and customized with all the different components that SmartAIR needs to be able to run after its installation is completed. All the dependencies that it needs have been set up and configured and also is provided with its MD5 file to verify its integrity when you download it.
The application itself is a single RPM, which means that everything is packaged in the same place. For major releases, upgrades are supported. For each version there is an upgrade procedure which upgrades mainly the databases and all the other components including adding or removing tables or changing parameters in the database configuration in the data tables, the types of values that can be entered or removal of columns, etc.
