In SG there is a "Parameter Mappings" item under the "Configuration" menu and also a "CWMP Get Parameter Values (Attribute Storage)" item available in "Available Workflow Actions" list...
I'm talking about SG 4.2.3 as installed in our environments.

Environment
Solaris 10
Oracle 10
WebLogic 9.2.3
Cause
Still old help information available in SG4.2.3Solution
partly found better help information about this subject in SG4.3:
Parameter Mappings
This feature can be used to map the value of parameters contained within a device event (CWMP Inform message), to device attributes and system keys. Each time a device event is received, the parameters and values sent are compared against the mappings defined here, and upon a match, the specified field on the device is updated.
Selecting Configuration > Parameter Mappings from the top menu bar displays the parameter mapping management screen. The main display consists of a list of the currently defined mappings at the top and details about the selected mapping at the bottom. The list of mappings can be filtered by data model object name.
Adding Parameter Mappings
To add a new parameter mapping:
Click the New button at the top of the parameter mapping list.
On the General tab, enter in the appropriate information. Realm and object type are mandatory, as well as either Attribute or System Key, depending on the selected Map Type.
Click the Save button. The mapping comes into effect immediately.
Deleting Parameter Mappings
To delete a mapping:
Select a mapping from the list.
Click the Delete button.
Click the Ok button on the confirmation dialog box.
Viewing and Modifying Parameter Mappings
To view a parameter mapping, select the appropriate record from the results list. The details for that service will be displayed in the window at the bottom of the display.

I asked Engineering if extra information is available.
