Overview
You would like to resolve an issue where STV Export Streams Status is Unknown after activation of new Streams in another domain with the same MGR. You are using a Lithium Release older than 19.2.
Solution
- This is a known issue and has been already fixed as part of Lithium Release 19.2.
- An upgrade to the latest release is recommended to resolve this issue of STV export on multi domain setup.
- You can access the NewNet Download Portal here.
The core issue from this STV export problem is the way FTA Jobs (used by stv_export) are designed and handled. A software issue was found and fixed in 19.2.
What we have observed is that in a system with multiple domains, the MGR could delete the job when it does not find any stv_export stream for the domain; however, the export stream could be in an another domain (which is the issue), and results in no stv_export report being created.
If you go to stv_export and make any small change (e.g., name change), save it, and then activate it, you would notice that it will become active. However, if you go into the Offnet domain after this and make any change in the stv_export stream or if a stv_export stream is run on the other domain, the FTA will delete it. This will cause the stv_export stream status to be in "Unknown" status in the other domain and hence no stv_export data is generated.
The reason you do not see any stv_export details, is because the FTA job (stv_export related) did not run for this domain at all.
