Overview
You may be looking at whether changing the default textpass user is possible, or to replicate the textpass user and assign it the same permissions, enabling the identification of who did what on the system. If it's possible, you may also wish to know if the system can connect to an Active Directory/ RADIUS/ TACACS server for centralized user management in MGR GUI and CLI.
Information
For CLI access, user textpass is unique in NewNet Lithium. You may create other users under the same group of textpass (200), which would allow you to run most of the functionality. However, there may be specific processes that can only be run under the textpass user itself.
Please note textpass is the main user for the solution. Without this user, the solution cannot work. All application processes are created under the textpass user.
Creating another user with 100% of the functionality as textpass is not possible.
Connection to Active Directory/RADIUS/TACACS server for centralized user management is not available for CLI access and this would require development.
In MGR GUI, you have an option to configure multiple users where each operator has their own password, and some Authentication Modes are supported. For more details, please refer to the section MGR Authentication of the MGR Operator Manual, which is available in the NewNet Download Center in the Skyvera support portal.
