Overview

You would like to know if and how you can use the Backup and Restore Utility tool to create backup/restore for selected information from MGR GUI, such as specific applications, rules or lists.

Solution

Please note that currently it is not possible to backup/restore partial information from MGR GUI (like specific applications, rules or lists) using the the Backup and Restore Utilities tool. Also, no formal procedure is available for that.

Since the MGR data is available under respective domain database of MySQL in the MGR server, you can consider a mysqldump to extract info of specific tables and use tp_shell command to define the required entries back to the MGR. Please refer to tp_shell section in the MGR Operator Manual, which is available in the NewNet Download Center on the Skyvera support portal. 

However, this is not a straightforward procedure and would require some manual intervention (or via script) to properly convert the entries from mysqldump into tp_shell commands as some tables have correlation to others, i.e. Application Tables & Service Class Tables; Routing Rule Tables & Service Center Tables; etc.

The aforementioned procedure only indicates that it is doable, however it must be noted that support for the same is currently not provided by ZephyrTel.
