Overview
You have a schema of multiple RTR and LGP servers and you want to redistribute some LGPs and dedicate them to certain RTRs instead of getting only one LGP running at a time for collecting logs from multiple RTRs at the same time, as shown in the following picture:
This leads to a very high resources utilization on one server and other servers (disconnected servers) won't be handling traffic.
Information
To make proper use of the servers you have available to be used (but disconnected), you can use different topologies. This can be achieved by modifying the <hostname>_config.txt
file that can be found in the /usr/TextPass/etc
folder, as shown in the following picture:
Depending on which schema you choose, you will need to modify the file differently. We recommend to chose either a Load Balanced topology or a Load Balanced & Redundant schema.
- To create a Load Balanced schema, make sure you check the Implementing a Load Balanced topology KB Article.
- If you want to Implement a Load Balanced & Redundant schema, then you must check the Implementing a Load Balanced & Redundant topology KB Article.
We also recommend the use of tools like WinSCP to edit and confirm the edition of files for this exercise.
