PeerApp: Disabling P2P Cache to Improve Performance in Bounce Mode

Overview

You may want to remove all Peer-to-Peer caching and only let PeerApp do HTTP/small files in hope of improving the cache performance while using Bounce mode deployment(PBR).

Information

Removing all P2P caching will not result in better cache performance, since PBR deployment is used, it is only forwarding non-encrypted traffic. Please consider these two suggestions to improve cache performance:

  1. Clearing Asymmetric traffic to 0%
  2. Forwarding UDP traffic to PeerApp: You can apply PBR to forward UDP traffic port >6000. Then the system can perform caching for UDP torrent traffic.
  3. Make sure you're up to date: Updating PeerApp to the latest version and using Hardware that is capable of operating the new versions smoothly.
