PeerApp Server Not Able to Access External Server

Overview

Customers may occasionally submit a ticket in the support portal, asking us to check connectivity when a PeerApp server cannot access an external server. This article details the process for checking connectivity.

Checking Connectivity

  1. Establish an SSH session connecting with the customer's server.

  2. Ping the external server's IP address provided by the customer.
Example: If the customer provides an IP address of 111.222.333.444, then the command is
    ping 111.222.333.444
  3. If the previous ping packets are lost, check the network route from the PeerApp server to the external server using the tracert command.
    Example:
    tracert 111.222.333.444

  4. Share the results from both commands with the customer.
